Prototype 36" Magnum Clamp
The Sabre Magnum Clamp is a revolutionary design in spacer clamps. While the clamp is completely extended, it is possible for the clamp shoe to exert up to ONE MILLION POUNDS of pressure to the pipe wall. This will provide a perfectly rounded surface; eliminating high-low and providing a weld gap that is uniform throughout the welding process. The clamping shoes are machined to specific pipe sizes. This eliminates the need for loose shims, When the wall thickness changes, the operator need only change out the shoe to the appropriate size.
Air Pressure
The Sabre Magnum Clamp requires constant air pressure to function correctly. The minimum air pressure required to operate the spacer clamp is 225psi (15.5 BAR). However, preferred pressure is 250psi (17.25BAR)
Controls
Standard controls for the spacer clamp are located on the clamp itself and are controlled with the use of a standard clamp reach rod. The double toggle control provides the force needed to round out the pipe in areas where egging has occurred
